LAHORE: Punjab will celebrate 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations with a series of special events scheduled for May 21 and May 25, on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to officials, the commemorative events will highlight the longstanding friendship between the two countries and showcase cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, tourism, development, and environmental restoration.
The announcement came following a meeting between provincial representatives and Chinese Consul General Sun Yan, where both sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, officials reaffirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest and promoting people-to-people contacts between Punjab and China.
The provincial side also conveyed Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s best wishes for the leadership and people of China, terming the bilateral relationship time-tested and forward-looking.
Authorities said the upcoming celebrations will include cultural activities and diplomatic engagements aimed at highlighting the depth of Pakistan-China relations and their continued strategic partnership.
