BEIJING: Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, who serves as China’s lead official for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs, held a video call on Thursday evening with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
During the call, both sides engaged in candid, in-depth, and constructive discussions on implementing the key consensus reached by the two heads of state during their meeting in Busan, as well as in prior communications. They also discussed ways to effectively address mutual concerns in economic and trade matters while expanding practical cooperation.
The Chinese side raised serious concerns regarding recent U.S. restrictive measures in the economic and trade sectors.
Both parties agreed to continue utilizing the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism to strengthen consensus, manage differences, and deepen cooperation, with the aim of ensuring the steady, stable, and sustainable growth of bilateral economic and trade relations.
