BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday emphasized the importance of respecting and safeguarding Iran’s sovereignty, security, and legitimate rights, particularly as a country located along the Strait of Hormuz. He also stressed the need to ensure the freedom and safety of international navigation through the strategic waterway.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made these remarks during a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
