Global Times: Three people were killed and two others sustained minor injuries after a fire broke out at a chemical company in Yumen City, Northwest China’s Gansu Province, on Monday morning, according to Xinhua.
According to the report, the incident occurred in a workshop of the company, a three-story reinforced concrete building at approximately 10:40 am. Following the incident, local authorities swiftly organized firefighting and rescue efforts. The open flames were extinguished by 12:14 pm on Monday, with search and rescue operations concluding at 12:57 pm.
Reporters learned that the two individuals who sustained minor injuries were receiving treatment, while the cause of the incident remains under further investigation, per Xinhua.
At present, relevant authorities in Gansu Province are conducting inspections to identify potential risks and hazards at chemical enterprises across the province, in a bid to firmly prevent similar incidents from recurring, Xinhua reported.
