Global Times: The public security bureau of Yuexi county, East China’s Anhui Province, issued a statement on Monday evening, saying that a missing six-year-old girl surnamed Wang had been murdered, and the suspect had been arrested.
The statement said police received a report at 11:54 pm on March 31, when the girl’s mother surnamed Zhang reported her daughter missing. After receiving the report, the police immediately mobilized dedicated forces to carry out search and investigation efforts.
After investigation, police confirmed that Wang had been murdered and that a female suspect surnamed Liu, aged 35, had been arrested, according to the statement.
The case is currently under further investigation, said the police statement.
The police worked with more than 100 local officials and residents and conducted a thorough screening of the incident area, China National Radio (CNR) reported.
During the search and rescue operation, the task force also utilized technical means such as police dogs and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to conduct a comprehensive search of key areas, CNR reported.
