The fact that the US keeps making irresponsible remarks only exposes its own intention to dominate the Panama Canal, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Friday, in response to media inquiry over remarks from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who smeared China for so-called detaining or holding up Panama-flagged ships.“Who is truly undermining the neutrality of the Panama Canal and disrupting global supply chains through unilateral bullying and coercion? Justice lies in the hearts of the people,” Mao stated.
China’s position on issues related to relevant Panamanian ports is clear. China will firmly safeguard its legitimate and lawful rights and interests，Mao added.
