BEIJING, (Xinhua) — China has officially launched the second phase of its 6G technical trials after successfully completing the first stage, which resulted in the development of more than 300 core 6G technologies, an official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press briefing, MIIT spokesperson Xie Cun said China has built the world’s largest information and communications infrastructure. He noted that the country now has over 4.8 million 5G base stations in operation, with the number of 5G users surpassing 1.2 billion.
