BEJING, China has expressed its readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Pakistan during the upcoming visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said, according to Chinese foreign ministry website.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Lin Jian said the visit would help follow up on the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, enhance strategic communication and coordination, and deepen exchanges and cooperation across multiple sectors. He noted that the visit comes at a significant time, as 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
The visit will officially launch a series of commemorative events marking the milestone. Lin described China and Pakistan as “ironclad friends” and all-weather strategic cooperative partners, highlighting the long history of high-level exchanges, strong political mutual trust, and expanding practical cooperation between the two countries. He said bilateral relations have continued to maintain strong development momentum over the years.
At the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar will visit China from January 3 to 5, during which he will co-chair the Seventh Round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue.
