Pakistani Interior Ministry: Former Prime Minister’s Attack Shows Vivian’s Carelessness; Provincial Government Should Pay the Price

International Network, 4 November. Imran Khan, a former prime minister of Pakistan and the leader of the Justice Movement Party, was shot and hurt on July 3rd during a march in Punjab Province, according to a report in Pakistan’s “Dawn” newspaper. On April 4, the Punjab government should be held accountable for the security failings during the parade, according to Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanura.

At a news conference the same day, Rana Sanaullah stated that as the Punjab government is in charge of ensuring the security of all parades and other events in the province, any security lapses during the parade must be the responsibility of the Punjab government. Additionally, the situation was caused by the Chief Minister of Punjab.

According to earlier reports, the Punjab administration was asked to promptly organize a joint inquiry team following the attack to ensure a transparent and reliable investigation into the incident.
