The University of Sargodha (UoS) has formalized two distinct agreements with leading Chinese universities, marking a significant expansion of academic cooperation. These partnerships focus on enhancing research collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, and digital education initiatives.

In the first development, UoS signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with China’s prestigious Nankai University. This agreement was concluded during a meeting on the sidelines of the 2025 SCO Digital Economy Forum in Tianjin, China. The LOI was formalized by Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Vice Chancellor of UoS, and Prof. Dr. Chen Yulu, President of Nankai University.

An official statement detailed that both institutions committed to joint efforts specifically in research collaboration, faculty exchange, and digital education. Highlighting the spirit of the agreement, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Prof. Dr. Chen Yulu also exchanged souvenirs, described as “symbolizing a shared commitment to strengthening educational ties.”

Simultaneously, the Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS) at UoS established a partnership with the Centre for Pakistan Study at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. This Intent of Cooperation (IOC) was signed by Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director of PICS, and Prof. Cheng Yuan, Director of the Centre for Pakistan Study in Jiangxi.

According to an official statement, this partnership aims to foster academic and cultural collaboration between the research centers. Key objectives include facilitating joint research projects, implementing faculty and student exchange programs, and undertaking collaborative studies focused on Pakistan-China relations.
