Pakistan Honors Chinese Visionaries with Prestigious Civilian Awards for Advancing Bilateral Ties

At a dignified ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi conferred two high civilian honors on eminent Chinese leaders in recognition of their transformative roles in strengthening Pakistan-China relations. Acting on behalf of the President of Pakistan, Ambassador Hashmi awarded the *Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam* to Fu Zhiheng, President of the China Great Wall Industry Corporation, and the *Tamgha-i-Imtiaz* to Zhang Baozhong, Director of the China Peace and Development Fund.

In his remarks, Ambassador Hashmi lauded the recipients’ enduring legacies, stating, “Their contributions are not just a single movement, but part of a much larger, ongoing story of collaboration between our nations.”

Fu Zhiheng was honored for his instrumental role in advancing Pakistan’s space capabilities, including the successful launch of critical remote sensing satellites. These satellites have enhanced agricultural forecasting and disaster management systems nationwide. His leadership also facilitated the creation of the Pakistan Space Center, a cornerstone in the country’s technological progress.

Zhang Baozhong received accolades for his visionary stewardship of the Gwadar Port project during his tenure at the China Overseas Ports Holding Company. His efforts catalyzed regional connectivity, economic development, and cross-border cooperation. Even after concluding his official duties, Zhang’s continued advocacy for Pakistan-China collaboration has reinforced strategic and economic bonds.

The ceremony underscored the depth of the bilateral partnership, with both leaders symbolizing the shared commitment to innovation, infrastructure, and mutual prosperity.
