Islamabad: State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed on Thursday informed the National Assembly that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project’s eastern and western routes would be connected to each other.
He said the CPEC project was not only the name of roads but $46 billion project including energy projects and all provinces would get from this gigantic project of national interest.
He dispelled the impression that 87 percent of CPEC projects were being set up in Punjab. He said the government was spending amount on Burhan, Mianwali, Dera Ismail Khan and Zhob section, adding that $ 46 billions are not only for roads it also included energy projects as well.
He said a 10-member committee headed by the prime minister and including all chief ministers had been formed to remove reservations of small provinces about the western route.
He said the western route would start from Dear Ismail Khan linking Zhob and will reach to Gwadar.-APP
