NUST establishes Chinese Studies Centre

Islamabad :The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has established a Chinese Studies Centre (CSC) at the School of Social Sciences & Humanities.

The CSC will serve as Centre of Excellence and will undertake studies in Chinese Society, Strategy, Politics, Language, Economy, Culture, Defense, Diplomacy, Environment and Sciences and Technology. The Centre in particular will undertake studies dealing with various aspects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and hence will provide technical inputs to government in general and relevant department/organization and entities in particular.

The Centre will also offer courses in Chinese Development Experience for the students of School of Social Sciences in NUST. In addition, it will hold seminar/conferences on various aspects of Pak-China relationship.

The Centre is headed by a recently Retired Ambassador Syed Hasan Javed. Ambassador Javed has spent nearly ten years in China in two diplomatic assignments. He has authored two books on Chinese Language and has a solid understanding of Chinese Culture, Society, Economics, Politics and Diplomacy.—INP
