CPEC true manifestation of Pak-China friendship: Jhagra

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Eng. Iqbal zafar Jhagra has said Pakistan and China were bound together in strong ties and the people of both countries had stood by each other in the moments of successes and trials.
He said Pakistan and China are ‘Iron Brothers’ cooperating closely in all fields with the aim to promote regional peace, bilateral relations and for the well-being of the people of the both friendly countries. He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a true manifestation of friendship of Pakistan and China adding that this project (CPEC) was a gateway to new horizons of progress and prosperity for Pakistan and will also bring economic revolution in the entire region.

He was talking to Chinese delegation led by minister of International Affairs,Yan Lijin along with Ambassador of the Republic of China in Pakistan, Sun Weidong who called on him here at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House on Wednesday.
They remained with the Governor for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest and situa-tion in the region with special focus on the role, which the Government of China can contribute towards further strengthening the times old brotherly and friendly relationships between both the countries. Senator Nuzhat, members of National and provincial assembly of KP and Sheikh Arsalan and others were also present on this occasion.

The Governor also highlighted the steps underway for ensuring sustainable peace and stability particularly in FATA and pointed out that government is taking the respective people along in all its measures for ensuring better future for them. Talking on various points, the governor also apprised the minister about the steps and endeavors of the government to ensure the dignified return and rehabilitation of TDPs in FATA.

He said socio-economic uplift of the people of FATA will continue to remain a top priority with special focus on bringing further improvement in working of healthcare system and educational facilities in the area.
Speaking at the occasion, the Governor said that the strong relationship of the Pakistan and China is rooted in history and hoped that this lasting relationship would remain eternal. He further said that the people of both the countries shared the complete bonds of common faith and brotherhood.

The Governor further said tribesmen had rendered great sacrifices for the sake of the peace of the entire region adding that now the time has come to reciprocate their sacrifices and urged international community to come forward and support the TDPs in their repatriation and complete rehabilitation. He stated sustainable peace in FATA was the top priority of incumbent Government adding that no stone would be left unturned to maintain lasting peace in this region.
