BEIJING, Oct. 23: According to a communiqué, Xi Jinping was chosen to serve as general secretary of the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) 20th Central Committee during the committee’s first plenary meeting on Sunday.
Xi Jinping presided over the meeting, which was attended by 168 alternative members and 203 members of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
At the meeting, Xi was also appointed head of the CPC Central Military Commission.
At the meeting, Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, and Li Xi were chosen to serve as members of the CPC Central Committee’s Standing Committee on Political Affairs.
Members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee were also chosen during the meeting, and they supported the candidates for the CPC Central Committee Secretariat put up by the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau.
The Central Military Commission’s members were announced at the plenary session. The 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection’s chosen secretary, deputy secretaries, and members of the Standing Committee was authorized at the session.
The members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee include Ding Xuexiang, Xi Jinping, Ma Xingrui, Wang Yi, Wang Huning, Yin Li, Shi Taifeng, Liu Guozhong, Li Xi, Li Qiang, Li Ganjie, Li Shulei, Li Hongzhong, He Weidong, He Lifeng, Zhang Youxia, Zhang Guoqing, Chen Wenqing, Chen Jining
Members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee include Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, and Li Xi.
Xi Jinping is the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
Members of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat include Cai Qi, Shi Taifeng, Li Ganjie, Li Shulei, Chen Wenqing, Liu Jinguo, and Wang Xiaohong.
Zhang Youxia and He Weidong serve as the chairman and vice chairman, respectively, under Xi Jinping.
The Central Military Commission is made up of Miao Hua, Zhang Shengmin, Liu Zhenli, and Shangfu Li.
Li Xi is the secretary of the Standing Committee of the CCDI, while Liu Jinguo, Zhang Shengmin, Xiao Pei, Yu Hongqiu (f.), Fu Kui, Sun Xinyang, Liu Xuexin, and Zhang Fuhai are the deputy secretaries.
Liu Jinguo, Liu Xuexin, Xu Luode, Sun Xinyang, Li Xi, Li Xinran (Manchu), Xiao Pei, Zhang Shengmin, Zhang Fuhai, Chen Guoqiang, Zhao Shiyong, Hou Kai, Yin Bai (Naxi), Yu Hongqiu, Fu Kui, and Mu Hongyu are all members of the CCDI’s Standing Committee.
