NEPRA admitted Tariff Modification Reference for 300 MW Coal Fired Power Gwadar

ISLAMABAD, 12 October The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved CIHC Pak Power Company (Pvt.) Limited’s appeal for adjustment or revision of the reference tariff for its 300 MW Gwadar Coal Fired Power Generation project in Gwadar, Balochistan.

Under Sections 7 and 21 of the NEPRA Act and Rule 3 of the NEPRA Tariff, Zhao Bo, Chairman of CIHC Pak Power, submitted a petition for the modification of the reference tariff on August 25. He asked the authorities to process the petition as soon as possible to “enable the project company to proceed further with the development of this strategically important project.”

NEPRA sent out a communication to all parties involved and interested/affected upon admitting the petition. The Authority has said that anybody may submit comments on the case within seven days (by October 13), and if the authority finds it appropriate, it may let that individual participate in the proceedings and take their remarks into account when making its decision.
