PHA engage students of schools and colleges of Rawalpindi to promote monsoon plantation

Students of Rawalpindi Medical University and Schools and Colleges plants sapling in Liaqat Bagh and Quaid-e-Azam Park, Rawalpindi.

Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi setting a precedent to make a success of monsoon plantation drive in the garrison city of Rawalpindi. On the instructions of Director General PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, students of schools, colleges and universities in Rawalpindi have been engaged to take active part in ongoing monsoon plantation drive in the city. In this PHA has been providing all available resources to the students to plant saplings in public parks of Rawalpindi as well as in the respective educational institutions, they are studying.
Under the platform of PHA, students of Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) attend monsoon plantation drive and planted saplings in Liaqat Bagh. The students of RMU sharing their experience while being part of monsoon plantation drive and planting saplings in Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi viewed, “It is quite very healthy activity and PHA doing a fabulous work by engaging students in this beautiful activity”.
Simra Khan, a student of MBBS final year at RMU said that it is always very pleasing to be in lush green environment and plating saplings with our hands is something phenomenon. She appreciated the endeavours of PHA for inviting students to and providing them an opportunity to part of this beautiful campaign.
Meanwhile students of Askaria Foundation Schools and Colleges also attend PHA monsoon plantation Drive and planted saplings in Quaid-e-Azam Park, in Gulzar-e-Quaid.
The students of Askaria Schools and Colleges were invited at Quaid-e-Azam Park. Rawalpindi and they also planted saplings in the park under PHA monsoon drive.
The students of Askaria Schools and Colleges viewed that that plantation drive is very important for our environment as extreme weather conditions has dominated the weather of the country.
Director General PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha said that students are taking part in the monsoon plantation drive and they are quite happy by planting saplings with their hands.
Ranjha said that PHA has been pursuing the vision of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He added that PHA has been engaging the public as well as students of schools, colleges and universities to be part of “Plant a Tree for Pakistan” drive and people are taking part in this campaign with keen interest.
DG, PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha also viewed that PHA has set goal to plant one million trees in 2024 in Rawalpindi and in this regard, planation campaigns have also been engaged with Forest Department of Punjab to plant saplings in urban as well as rural areas and suburbs of Rawalpindi district.
He said that saplings are also being distributed among the public freely and in this regard, PHA has established Green Points in the public parks of Rawalpindi, where public can take saplings free of cost to plant saplings in their homes.
PHA spokesperson said that students of schools, colleges and universities are taking interest by planting saplings in their respective institutions and in the public parks.
She added that PHA has also been planting saplings at the green belts of and at the highways of the Rawalpindi not only to beautify the city but also to give green look to the beautiful city of Rawalpindi.
