Punjab govt to appoint 5,000 officials for foreigners’ security

LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to appoint 5000 officials for the security of foreigners including Chinese engineers working in the province.

According to Punjab Government’s spokesman, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has requested the immediate appointment of 5000 officials in the Special Protection Unit. These officials will provide security to the foreigners including those working for the China Pakistan Economic Corridor in Punjab.

Further Punjab Government’s spokesman stated that Punjab government’s cabinet committee will visit the Chinese projects monthly and will intimate the CM about the security plans through monthly reports.

CM Shahbaz Sharif also passed the orders to start training sessions of such officials from this month. The Punjab government has decided to take help and guidance from retired army officers in order to train these officials for their duties and responsibilities.
