Govt announces packages for Chinese investors

Lahore—The Punjab government has announced different packages for Chinese investors, in order to promote industries. The investors, aiming to invest Rs 200 billion at Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park, will be given 25 acre land free of cost. This was stated by Punjab Minister for Industries Ch Muhammad Shafiq while talking to media, on his return from China on Monday. He said that any investor who would develop an industrial estate of 1000 acres would be given land on 50 percent discount while investor who would develop an estate of 3000 acre would be given 60 percent discount on lands.
Similarly, the investor who would develop an industrial estate on 5000 acres, will be provided 70 percent discount on land, he added. “The packages have been given to investor for promoting business and elimination of unemployment,” he said. “I have met Chinese businessmen during visit and invited them for investment as Pakistan has peaceful environment due to Zarb-e-Azb operation, “ he said. He said that in order to strengthen the national economy, steps would be taken on war-footing to set up industries across the Punjab.—APP
